Describe a situation when you were bored – During Lockdown
In today’s world, people are so busy that they hardly get time to get bored, but there was a time when I felt really bored and had nothing to do. It was during the summer of 2020 when there was lockdown all over the world and everyone was quarantined in their houses. This time was not only boring and difficult for me but for everyone around the world. We had no idea what we were supposed to do, everyone was on house arrest.
I was at my home with my parents and as I have no siblings, this period seemed more colourless. Initially, I was happy that I’ve got a leave from college and I relaxed for days but slowly this was getting boring. I had to go through the same monotonous schedule each day and there was nothing new. We could not move out, we could not invite people at home. All I was doing was getting up, eating, sometimes watching TV, and sleeping again. Life seemed insipid.
Finally, I decided that I needed to overcome this boredom and do something productive, hence I started watching YouTube tutorials where I learned how to cook. I used to cook a one-time meal for everyone daily and I always tried my hands on some new dish. I brought a massive change in my schedule. I started learning glass painting, I learned how to use oil paints and made a lot of paintings. Apart from that I also did online educational courses to enhance my skills. Now I believe that each one of us has the potential to be productive, it is just the right motivation and self-determination that we need within ourselves.
Sample Answer 2:
Being a workaholic person, I feel happy whenever I remain busy. However, I feel bored whenever I have to sit idle.
Last year due to the corona pandemic, the government of my country imposed a strict lockdown. Due to that, I had to sit at home for six months. The first three months of that period were monotonous for me.
My parents and my younger sister were there with me during that period, Since I was not allowed to go out of my township, I spent most of the time inside the township. I would play games on my computer, watch web series, and eat a lot. In short, I became a couch potato.
The main reason for feeling bored was that I did not have too much productive work to do. When we move from our home for any purpose, our life becomes dynamic. Because we get a chance to meet a lot of people, from whom we learn new things. Then we try those things and add dynamism to our lives. Whereas when we sit at home, our life becomes mundane.,because we do not get a chance to experience new things. By performing the same tasks every day, we get into a vicious circle, often finding it difficult to get out of that. The same happened to me. For the first few days, the leisure time I had was a blessing for me. But later on, it turned out to be a nightmare.
So that period of six months can be termed as the most boring time of my life.

Describe a situation when you were bored – At a Party
I am an extrovert, so there have been very less times where I got bored. However, I vividly remember a time when I went to my cousin’s place and got bored.
It was during last year’s summer break. I had a few holidays from school/college. So, I made a plan to visit my cousin who had come back from his navy training.
His name is Arijit and he is 26 years old. He wanted to join the Indian navy ever since he was a child. I was extremely excited to meet him as we both had not seen each other for the last 4 years. So, I went to his place and started talking about our childhood and we got nostalgic thinking about our memories. Suddenly he got a call from his college friends that they were having a get-together. He insisted me to come along with him to the party. I was reluctant, but he persuaded me and we both got ready and went to the party.
As soon as we reached, a group of his friends came, and he introduced me to all of them. But after some time, they took my cousin with them to another table where there were some other friends. I did not know anyone at the party, so I felt a little bored and left out. I kept myself engaged by using my phone and having snacks, but I got bored with that too in some time. In about an hour, my cousin came back along with his friends and I finally thought that it would be fun now, but they started to talk about their friend circle and what the others were doing in their life. I was not able to participate in the discussion, and so I felt out of place and bored. I could not leave, as it would seem rude, and so I had to stay with them till the end of the party.
I felt really bad that I was left out, but then I also realized that my cousin had met his friends after a very long time, and they had things to talk about and catch up with each other. So, I just pretended to be enjoying myself. In another hour the party got over and my cousin and I came back home. Even though I had felt very bored but seeing him happy made me happy too. So, I decided not to tell him about it. So, this was the time when I was with people and got bored.

Describe a situation when you were bored – During a Movie
There have been many times when I have felt bored, but today I would like to talk about one such day which was dull.
It was during the summer of 2019. My college exams had just gotten over, and I was completely free. Since it was really hot outside, I couldn’t go out much and was getting bored sitting at home.
One day, one of my friends called me and told me about a new Bollywood movie that was going to release the next day. The name of the movie was Student of the Year 2.
I immediately saw the movie trailer on youtube and asked my friend to book the tickets. The movie was about a group of college students who get into a competition. I thought it was going to be a comedy movie and we would have a good time. But as soon as the movie started, we started cursing our luck. It was one of the worst movies of the year. The movie’s plot was utterly predictable, and there was no laughter in the scenes at all. Even the performance of the actors was below average. It felt like someone was torturing us.
As soon as the first half got over, I asked my friend to leave the movie and go do something else. But he thought that probably the second half of the movie would be more interesting, and I listened to his advice and stayed back. Unfortunately, the second half was even worse than the first one. The jokes were not funny, and the script of the movie was terrible.
Somehow I convinced my friend to leave before the movie ended. It was one of the most boring experiences of my life.

Describe a situation when you were bored – During a Lecture
I remember when I was in high school there were some classes that I found to be boring. in particular, one class, which was grade 10 history, was a total drag. Time just seemed to stand still while being there, and there were several reasons why it happened. The classroom setting was one thing that I didn’t appreciate at all. I was assigned to sit in the back corner of the classroom, and because of the room design, I had only one person sitting next to me who I could only communicate with. However, this guy, whose name was Jim, was very introverted and uninteresting, so it was harder than normal to start up an interesting conversation with him.
Somedays in that class, I recall that I may have never even said a word, which was quite different than my other classes. Another thing that made this situation so tedious was the dull teacher – Mr. Jeet. From what I remember, the content of the subject seemed somewhat interesting, but the way that he presented wasn’t. This teacher spoke so slowly and with a monotonous voice, so much so that I often spent my time daydreaming instead of concentrating. I don’t think I was alone with my boredom either. The students, on the whole, appeared to be disengaged, and unfortunately, Mr. Jeet didn’t make any in-class adjustments as he just kept to his some old boring script. It’s a shame that this all happened. Learning about history can be very interesting, but that year I lost motivation to study it, which made everything even harder.
The teacher expected us to memorize a lot of important dates from history. To do well on tests, I really needed to push myself, but at times, I felt that studying was pointless. Fortunately, now I find reading and watching documentaries about history to be pretty fascinating. But back in grade 10, I dreaded entering the door of that classroom, because I found it to be the most boring place in the world. Thank you. That’s all I have to say.
