IELTS Essay on Visual Images Provide Enough Evidence for Crime – Sample Answer
Nowadays, it is thought that enough evidence of a crime committed can be provided by visual images. Meanwhile, there are others who are against them and argue that more evidence should be needed. Personally, I agree with the statement that extra evidence is required alongside the images.
One of the reasons why some people believe that photos and videos provide sufficient evidence of a crime committed is that the crime scene can be shown vividly on those. It is obvious that without visual images, the crime scene remains in investigators’ imaginations. Clearly, photos or videos are helpful for visualising the crime scene. Moreover, especially these days, thanks to the development of technology, it has become easier to find out the data of how the photo or the video was filmed and whether it is fake or not. Accordingly, it is clear to conclude that they provide enough information to find things out about a crime. I E L T S XP RESS
On the other hand, it is a fact that the images can omit things. In other words, they are not strong enough to tell everything about a crime committed. For example, photos or videos are a glimpse of particular moments. Consequently, they can easily lead people to misunderstand or to provide limited evidence, which is definitely not enough. In addition, it is extremely essential to have strong evidence to tell if a crime was committed or not. Therefore, stronger evidence, such as the DNA of a suspect, should be required as well to conclude a case.
In conclusion, although there are some people testifying that visual images give enough evidence of a committed crime as the situation is clearly observed in photos or videos, I firmly believe that those are not sufficient since there should be clearer evidence, such as DNA.
