The diagrams illustrate how the water supply system in Australia currently works and the plan for future changes.

Overall, the most noticeable change in the future water supply system is the recycling process of water for use in the city.

Looking at the present water supply system plan, pure water is stored in a dam before being transferred to a city to be used by households, shops and factories. From the city, storm water goes straight into the river whereas waste water is sent to the water treatment plant. After being processed, it is safe to be released into the river.

Regarding the future water supply system, it can be seen that the storage of pure water in the dam and its usage in the city are planned to remain unchanged. However, both storm water and waste water from the city will be directly pumped to the water treatment plant for processing. After that, they will both be recycled back for use in the city. Also, there will be no water released into the river.

The given pictures illustrate Australia’s current water system and the changes proposed to it in future. It can be seen that the changes proposed are for better recycling of water, and also the water waste will not be released into the river.

At present, the city receives its supply of pure water from a dam. This pure water is supplied to household, factories and shops in the city. From the city, the storm water is released into the river. The wastewater generated by the city is sent to the water treatment plant. From the recycling plant, the treated waste water is sent to the river.

The future plan of the water supply system shows that the city will continue receiving its pure water supply from the dam. However, the storm water will not be released into the river. Instead, the storm water and waste water from the households, shops and factories will be sent to the water treatment plant. After the water is treated, pure water will be sent back to the city for use. There will not be any water released into the water.

Overall, it is clear that the water used for domestic or industrial purposes is being sent to the river whereas, in the future, it won’t be sent to the river directly.

At present, the rainfall water is collected and stored in Dams and used for various purposes such as for homes, factories, shops, and in cities. The wastewater from these is sent to the wastewater treatment plant, where the impurities and dirt are removed and then sent to the river so that the river isn’t polluted. In the future, the water will be used from dams, the only difference is that the wastewater and stormwater will be sent to the wastewater treatment plant and reused again for domestic and commercial use. No water will flow to the river in any circumstances.

The future water supply system plans are way better than present . there are no changes in infrastructure or no new treatment plants are constructed. City will continue to take water from the dam and control releasing of storm water into the river. Storm and city wastewater will be supplied to the treatment plant and receive back pure water for use. Australians now have two ways to receive pure water and they make their old system work perfectly without adding anything new to the water supply system.
